TL; DR (Too Long Didn’t Read)

For those short on time that already know their website needs help: Let’s just get started. Open a ticket with us and we will contact you to discuss what you might need.

Now for the rest of you that are curious:

First Impressions

You never get a second chance to make a first impression. Your website is the first impression that your clients will have of your company. When it was new, it probably did an excellent job of making that first impression. What about now? Is it still doing that?

Over time, your business changes and grows. Your website might not be making the same impression today that it used to. What should you do? Is this a good time for a redesign or a refresh?

Redesign

Webquarry can help with this. We can help you build a new site that has a fresh new look and feel.

This is a big step, akin to moving into a new house. A website redesign is a good thing if you have radically altered your business, are rebranding or just want to start over with something different.

A redesign can be an expensive and time consuming process and may be more than what you actually need.

Refresh

A refresh is a sort of like spring cleaning or sprucing up your space. It is more affordable and can be completed rather quickly. It should be considered if any of the following things are true:

  • Your site is not appealing,
  • You’re not getting as many conversions,
  • Your website looks outdated and boring,
  • Your communication is ineffective,
  • You’re not getting many leads,
  • You have a high bounce rate.

The art of doing an effective refresh is to leverage small changes in fonts, colors, images etc. to effect substantial improvements.

Possible Improvements

Visitor Engagement: Do you know the flow or path that visitors take through your website on the way to beginning a transaction with you? This is your sales funnel. How many are making it all the way through your sales funnel before they disengage? Of those that drop, where do they drop off at? What does your site analytics say? Do you even have analytics? Adding analytics to your site is the very first update you should make.

Images: Are your images outdated and turning clients away? Are they too large and thus impacting page load times? Your images should accurately represent not only your company but also be relevant to what your visitors are experiencing in their daily lives. They should also be optimized to load as quickly as possible. Over time, non-optimized images tend to get added to websites by well intentioned people that simply don’t know how to properly compress them.

Copy: Does the current message of your site accurately represent what your company currently does? During the pandemic, most companies have made fundamental changes to how they do business. Does your website still show the old ways?

CTA: Is your Call To Action current? Is it presented in the most advantageous manner? You have probably learned a few things over the years about what your clients are looking for. Updating the CTA to better address that is time well spent.

Fonts and Colors: Styles change over the years and your website’s fonts and colors are not immune. Has your company made any subtle changes to your logos, fonts and colors on other marketing materials? Your website needs to be brought into agreement with those other marketing materials. Your visitors will know by the look and feel that they have arrived at the right place when they reach your website.
