Sadly Sri Lankan schools have an unfortunate habit of segregation. Some schools are open only for buddhist and others only for muslims. Gender bias is even more common. Some of the most highly regarded schools are open only for boys or only for girls. Yet others choose their medium of instruction to be exclusively tamil or exclusively sinhala.
