Lap dogs.

August 6, 2008

When a police chief is appointed the president chooses not the most suitable candidate from amongst the deputies but the one most likely to become a lap dog. Of course that's not the way it should be, and that's what the constitutional council and the police commission are supposed to remedy. But those councils have been crippled by Mahinda and Chandrika so that they can continue to appoint their lap dogs as the chief of police.

When the present lap dog ascended to the throne, he held a press conference and admitted that the police force is corrupt (it's one of the most corrupt anywhere in the world). Like one of his predecessors he did agree that some crimes were not properly investigated. As a remedy he urged the citizens of this country to use themobile phones to take a photograph when ever they witnessed a crime.

Well, mobile phone usage is being restricted by this government. But when Mervin the vermin (or is it pig)? assaulted mediamen in Kelaniya (for the upteenth time) in the presence of police officers, another professional cameraman took a photo and it appeared on the front page of the Daily Mirror.

The vermin has still not been arrested. You didn't honestly think that the president would choose someone who could read as the police cheif did you?
