Sun Bursts Through the Clouds

June 1, 2008

May the rulers rule justly and may the rains be on time. It is commonly believed that bad rulers bring about droughts or floods. it's no suprise then that half the country is under water. But whenever it looks like that the sinkhole into which mahinda is dragging us into is bottomless, a ray of hope appears from nowhere.

The whole country was mourning, when minister Pervin Silva's was involved in a car accident and got away with just a crushed toe. People weren't so sad when they heard that the media minister's car was hit by a train when he wasn't in it, but there were plenty of thoughts of what if.... But things are changing. The seventh MP to kick the bucket this year has done so.

Member of Parliament Reggie Ranatunga has died. His sole claim to fame was to grind the Ceylon Wholesale Establishment (CWE) - the government owned distribution company into the dust.

But as usually happens in sri lanka, there is never a good day, there were two explosions on the same day fortunately they were minor ones only two persons died. Yes we sri lankans have been de sensitized so much that we now say 'only' two persons died .

Now if Ranil can be so considerate as to fall dead, we might be able to find an opposition leader that can send this government packing and pull us out of this mess.
