Save Fuel

May 29, 2008

The government tell us to save fuel but now with the price of petrol going up by 30% and diesel by 50% we have choice.

The president has publicly asked the ministers to cut down on their fuels bills. But no doubt they have been privately told to carry on as they are. And they continue to close roads and divert traffic when the president or members of his extended family move about.

Even early this morning there was a massive traffic snarl up all over the city and many roads in Colombo were closed off or were suddenly made one way streets so that the fools can move about with out facing the wrath of the public.

Ministers are just as bad It is said that a minister's fuel bills (including his backup vehicles) runs upto about Rs 300,000 a month. That was before the price hike. So it will be at least 400,000 a month from now on. There are more than a hundred of these jerks. Other like the JVP man WImal who isn't even a minister have been given the same levels or security so his bills will also add up.
