Two more fall by the wayside.
March 17, 2008
This really isn't a good year for politicians. Just days after Tyronne Appu, kicked the bucket, TNA parliamentarian Sivanesan was killed in a Claymore mine attack. Whenever a bomb goes off in Colombo the LTTE denies all responsibily and the defense establishment deny that they failed to provide adequate security to civilians.
Now the armed forces are denying all responsibility and they are screaming themselves hoarse that they didn't set up a claymore mine targeting a senior LTTE operative. Regardless of who setup the bomb, there will not be any tears shed in Colombo. The TNA is considered nothing more than an LTTE front.
There are mixed feeling however about the death of the clown prince Anura. Though government parliamentarians may don their black ties at his funeral the wine will flow in the evening because at the last count Anura included himself amongst the dissidents. Now two of the three dissidents amongst the government benches are dead.
Anura's good buddy the permanent leader of the opposition, must be in tears, he has lost count of the dissidents amongst the opposition benches and all of them unfortunately for him are live and kicking.
