in 1988 there were rumours that the LTTE was supplying weapons to the JVP. In 2008 the JVP's man won the presidential election thanks to the LTTE. That's what the slain Parliamentarian Sripathi alleged.

Now in 2008 a brigadier has confirmed in courts that there were indeed arms deals between the JVP and the LTTE.

So we can reasonably expect that in 2028 there will have confirmation of the 2005 election events as well. After all Mahinda, the man who lead protests in 1987 against the Indo Sri Lanka Peace accord , now says the peace accord were a wonderful thing. The Indian Peace Keeping Force which he called an army of rapist are now an army of angels.
