MBA Exam.
February 14, 2008
Phewww, the first semester exams are out of the way. The Internation Business Law paper was held today - it was an utter farce.
In previous years the Internation Business Law (LAW8118) exam was an open book exam. This time, they had made it into a closed book exam. So in other words, they are more interested in testing our memories rather than our knowledge That would have been fine, if the questions were from the books or references that we were asked to read. Unfortunately quite a few weren't.
Out of the 50 multiple choice questions about a dozen were from GATT. GATT barely gets a mention on our text. No suprises there GATT was done and buried in 1994.
We were asked to drudge through an extremely boring law book written by someone called chuah. Hardly 5% of it's contents were covered by the exam
In contrast the Decision Support Tools paper was much much better. It was held last week, it was open book to the point and the questions were reasonable. If you knew your subject matter you could answer the questions. The same unfortunately cannot be said about the law exam.
