People hardly had enough time to digest the news of DM Dassanayake's death in yesterday's bomb blast when another one went off. Forunately no one died. But once again it brings into question the government's security strategy.

The bomb went off close to the Lake House - part of the state media mafia. This is part of the high security zone in Colombo Fort. Even if a Lake House photographer were to take a photo in front of his office, he would promptly be dragged off to the CID office nearby.

Lake House is located on DR Wijewardana mawatha (Mcullum Street). There are no less than three check points on it. How did anyone managed to smuggle the bomb past those checkpoints? Well it would have been easy. All that he needed was an ID card that had a Sinhala Buddhist name on it. A fake ID is fine.
