Another new year, see yet another moderate tamil politician being killed. The government is ready to accuse the LTTE of the killing. In all likely hood they did carry out the killing yesterday, and it's equally likely that they planted the bomb at the Hotel Nippon today.

But the real responsibility for the murder and the explosion lie with the government. It is the government that withdrew the security provided to the slain MP Maheshwaran. It is the government that worked hand in hand to dragthe country back towards war and the dark ages.
