The road belongs to Politicians
August 6, 2007
The roads belong to the politicians. It's no suprise since the whole country has been taken over by the Rajapakse Brother's limited.
The other day the newspapers reported that a man had been arrested for blocking the first lady's convey! Here is the first lady going around in a fleet of very expensive vehicles bought with tax payer money and a man is arrested because he refused to move out of the way.
I waited for a few days to see if there would be any howls of protest in letters to the editors or if any opposition politicos would make an issue of it. No letters to the editor. This is the sort of treatment that people want from the politicians. There would be howls of rage if politicians did not treat the voters like dirt.
As for the opposition they are dreaming of coming to power and bulldozing their way through the traffic and making huge commisions in road construction projects so they will not protest either.
