Courts halt ethnic cleansing.
June 9, 2007
Thankfully the supreme court has stepped in and halted the government's campaign of ethnic cleansing, but not before the damage was done.
Most of the tamils who leaving in shaby guest houses in Colombo (lodges as they are called) are people who escaped from the clutches of the LTTE not LTTE sympathizer. Sure among them you will find plenty of stooges and the occaisional suicide bomber. But can the innocent tamils be blamed for that?
By choosing to forcibly send back all these people living in the lodges back to the north and east the government has played right into the hands of the LTTE. Here is a smoking gun that they can now take to europe and US and shouth themselves hoarse about. Tamil people really are being discriminated against. It will make people believe that the LTTE are freedom fighters (which they are not).
Has the police cheif no shame? he is yet to resign but if he does he will be the first.
