Headline news.

June 2, 2007

The man who reads the newspaper headlines has been appointed as the chairman of the Lake House - the newspaper house that operates at public expense for the benefit of the party in power. So now it's worth looking at some of the headlines in various newspapers.

"President Says Political Solution His Only Aim" says the Daily Noise of yesterday. That headline is there probably because the man he appointed as the chairman of lakehouse put it there because he was ordered to do so. The question begs asking, why the government is spending 16 Billion rupees on Migs interceptors to shoot down LTTE aircraft which probably cost no more than a couple of million rupees. The answer of course is simple: Mr 10% wants it.

"Commuters Taken For a Ride But No Complaints" says the pathetic daily mirror of the same date. That is to say the national transport commision has not recieved any complaints. That is because Sri Lankans know very well that righting letters to the editor and complaining to authorities about wrong doings are just futile tasks.
