Of Bicycles and Customer Service

April 5, 2007

Sri Lankan companies are not known for being customer friendly. Many people working in large companies do not believe the customer is kind. Sri Lankans being imbeciles continue to patronize those places and you can say they get what they deserve.

A company that doesn't fall into that category is Cycle Bazaar. They have a pretty good idea about customer service. A couple of weeks ago, I bought a bicycle from them for my daughter. It comes with a one year warranty but the warranty covers only the frame and does not cover the plastic or rubber components. The seat unfortunately is made of plastic and broke of just like that.

I called them up and told them about it. Even before I asked them for a replacement, they offered to replace it. And they did. No questions asked. That is like a breath of fresh air in this country.
