Minnows, Crickets, Tigers and Lions.

March 18, 2007

A cricket is an insect but the same name is used for a sport that is played in the Commonwealth of Nations. A Minnow is a bird but the same term is used to describe the weaker teams in Cricket. Bangladesh is one of those minnows and Ireland is another.

The Bangladesh team is sometimes called the Tigers no doubt after the famed Bengali Tiger. Tiger is a name commonly used in the Indian subcontinent to describe the LTTE terrorist oraganization.

The tigers (sporting varienty) bashed the hell out of the mighty Indians during yesterday's world cup match. The Indians and their rediculous Kangaroo coach were fancying themselves as potential winners of the trophy. The Irish team is even weaker than the Bangladeshis but to say the Irish beat the hell out of the Pakistanis would be an understatement.

The Sinhalese, specially the hardliners, call themselves lions even though four legged lions never lived in Sri Lanka. As for the two legged lions well they are just a bunch of cowards. Four legged lions sometimes kill lion cubs. Two legged lions do it all the time.

While the tigers were bashing the indians, a former minister has accused the government of a secret deal with the other tigers (the terrorist). That isn't a suprise. The minister has now been arrested to attempt to silence him. That is a suprise. With political killings and kidnappings being as common as they are in Sri Lanka, many thought he would be bumped off.

The lions have hardly noticed the arrest. They are too busy talking about the tigers (the cricket playing minnows).
