In the morning an road accident occured close to the Vihara Maha Devi Park (Victoria Park). When it happened there was an ongoing event for Boy Scouts and Girl Guides at the open air stage. What was unfortunate about the accident was the reaction of the people in the park.

Many of the scouts, guides, parents and teachers arrived in pocession (causing a massive traffic jam), I believe the event was supposed to have started at 9:00 am but it wasn't in full swing even as I left the park a little after 9:30 All this time new arrivals kept straggling in which is probably just as well even though scouts are not supposed to behave that way.

The moment the accident occured many of the people gathered around the stage rushed, nay ran to the edge of the park to get a close look. Even scouts themselves ran to the seen, not to help but to gawp.
