A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthurs Court.

How relevant is this book today? Very. It even sounds like the story of Sri Lanka. I have read quite a bit of Mark Twain and read Huckleberry Finn quite a few times, but I have never known Mark Twain to be a fantasy story writer. That's probably because despite being a bookworm, i had not read anything that can be categorized as fantasy until I read harry potter. That is if you discounts sexual fantasies!

After reading Harry Potter, i tried my hand at Tolkien and just loved it and I also realized that Rwlings cannot hold a candle to Tolkien. Less said about Eragon the better. I have even forgotten that forgettable authors name. No harm done, he can't come up with original names for his characters. The first chapter was all I read.

After reading Mark Twain's fantasy, my opinion of tolkien has not diminished at all. But I have come to realized that though Tolkien laid the path for all fantasy writers after him, he didn't have to cut through a thick forest to build that path

What's the relevance of the book today? more about it tomorrow.
