I have been searching for a BMW 318i (E36) for quite a few weeks and have been getting utterly frustrated in the process.

The E36 is the only BMW that I can really afford. Well sure I can afford an E34 but that car isn't a very interesting car. The E39 on the other hand is much better but it costs twice as much as an E36. The trouble is finding a good E36 is like finding a gold nugget in a stream.

So why don't I go for something like a Civic or maybe a Legacy? well they are too boring. How about an Audi? there are far too few of those on the roads in Sri Lanka and that works out to a high cost on spares. If you suggest that I should look at a Mercedes, I think you should have your head examine.

It never ceases to amaze me how many people think these cars are similar. Heck I have seen want ads in the newspapers 'looking for a BMW or a Benz'. It's rediculous but people get chauferred about in 3 Series cars, while other are perfectly happy driving a merceded E class.
