Sri Lanka It's Happening

The unholy alliance that was formed in Kandy promised to take Sri Lanka back in time to the dark ages. Six months on they haven't had much success, their most of their schemes failing miserably. Now this unholy alliance if getting help from an unexpected quarter. The catholic church.

According to the buddhist monks Sri Lanka is a civilization that is 2500 years old but the truth is our civilization is much older. The buddhist temple has been supressing that fact for a long time because it doesn't fit in with their scheme of things. It is said that there existed a catholic church in ancient anuradhapura. Both the temple and the church have worked very hard to rewrite that bit of history.

If there is anyone more intolerant than a sinhala buddhist extremist, it's a devout sinhala catholic. The Da Vinci Code, like the the church of ancient Anuradhapura doesn't fit in with their scheme of things. So they spoke to the president and had the film banned.

The hierarchy of the catholic church are an illiterate lot. As such they don't see any need to ban the book. Just the movie has been banned.
