The LTTE , JVP and the JHU

May 19, 2006

What does the LTTE and the JVP/JHU have in common? Two are called terrorists in the US, one is a former terrorist organization. They all want to devide the country, one along ethnic lines the other along geographic lines, for the JVP it's a much cruder rich and poor line. All three helped helped Mahinda become president. They speak about being the voice of their people but they don't really give a damn about their people and vice verce.

Now the country is at war. Oh sure we have an official ceasefire, but the JHU and the JVP have been screaming themselves hoarse that the ceasefire is not valid, if no one else believes them at least the LTTE does as they have shown by the blantant violations of the ceasefire since the presidential elections.

The JVP and JHU have been very critical of the norwegian facilitators and the Sri Lanka Monitoring mission. Getting rid of the Norwegians was a condition both parties insisted on to provide their support to Mahinda at the election. After election, whent the norwegians continued in the role, both parties just bit their tongues.

The LTTE on the other hand has not failed to take note of the JVP/JHU accusations that the SLMM is biased. The LTTE agrees whole hearted, they just think the SLMM is biased towards the government.
