Government celebrates Vesak by destroying buddhist heritage

May 11, 2006

Tommorow is Vesak. Vesak any year is a special day in the buddhist calendar but tommorow is special because it marks the 2550th birth annivesrary of Lorda Buddha (some historians disagree).

The government has celebrated the event by creating a monster that will destroy many temples that have survived for 2000 years.

What effect does acid rain have on stone works and masonary? especially old masonary? it decays them. What causes acid rain? Sulphour dioxide and oxides of Nitrogen. Huh? these are gases that are produced in large quantities by coal power plants. Today the government laid the foundation stone for the Norrochchalai coal power plant.
