Michael Von Bloss, Carloboy's younger brother, is dying of cancer in the UK. He hasn't seen carloboy since Sonnaboy packed up and took his family to england. Carlboy deciding to stay back in Ceyon. That was fourty two long years ago. Now michael von bloss who inherited a stubborn streak from his father decides agains all objects to to visit Sri Lanka to see Carloboy for one last time.

During the time that Sonnaboy leaves for england and the year 2002, Carloboy finally settles down, get's married in 1970. Coincidentally, Michael, his brother also get's married in the same year and starts a family. Tragedy strikes Carloboy's family on the day of Michaele's 55th birthday. Carloboy's youngest son is killed in an accident.

Michael, who left Sri Lanka when it was still ceylon hasn't met any of Carloboy's children, he hasn't even seen carloboy during the time he was away. Inspite of the advanced stage of cancer, Michael surives the 12 hour flight and Colombo's traffic to arrive at the Mount Lavinia hotel. The hotel is not too far from wellawatte, their childhood home.

Michael calls Carloboy, and promises to hire a van and come to kandy the next day to meet him. That doesn't happen, michael dies at 11:57 am, the exact same time that Carloboy's son died.

Reading something like this you might think, Carl Muller has lost the plot with this sequel to once upon a tender time, this is too far fetched even for a soap opera or a sit com. Truth is often stranger than fiction, as you will realize when you read Carl Muller's appreciation of his brother.
