According to the minister of finance the Ceylon Electricity board is one of the 5 most corrupt institutions in the country. The Ceylon Petrolium Corportaion is another.

Due to mismanagement of the countrys hydropower resources and poor planning a significant percentage of the electricity supply is produced using fossil fuels. Now the price of petrol has seen increased by over 15% overnight. The price of diesel and other fuels will follow suite shortly.

You can be very certain that the diesel price increase will happen with in the next few weeks because the minister of power and energy has assured that the prices will not be increased. When that happens the price of electricity can go only one way and it's up. The ministry of power and enegery has assured us that electricity bills will not be raised either ...
