Sri Lanka It's Happening

We have been hearing and reading of police brutality for a long time now Sri Lankans finally had a chance to see it on TV and the cameraman who caught it on film had been brutally asualted afterwards (by policemen) for his pains.

A road accident had taken place in a small south coast village that lead to some deaths. Such accidents are common because Sri Lankans are such bad drivers and police does nothing to prevent bad driving. What lead to the violence though was that the villagers had felt the policemen had doctored evidence to let the driver off the hook.

This lead to a demonstration in front of the police station and the coffins of the dead persons had been placed on the roadside at the entrance to the torture chamber. It was this demonstration that was attacked by the police acting like dogs and donkeys. Several men, women and children had to be taken to hospital. Just another day in the life of a policemen.
