The Lord of the Rings

June 5, 2004

Finally I succumbed to temptation and decided to watch the lord of the rings movies. That means I no longer bleong to that (persecuted) minority of people who have read the book and not seen the movie.

The films were very very good, but no where as good as the book. But that statement can be applied to almost any movie that was ever made. (The movies that are not based on books are not worth the pop corn). I have however seen one exception. The gorky park a film of the late eighties was slightly better than the book that it was based on.

It's pretty obvious that the rings movies were heavily influenced by a woman. Tolkien would be turning in his grave after seen all that mushiness. Those who want mushy movies can watch the titanic or some 2 cent movie based on a romance novel. This book was about adventure and the film should have stuck to it.
