Curl up in bed weather

May 5, 2004

It has been 'curl up in bed weather' these past few days at Great Western. It's always raining. The rain drops are so fine you hardly feel them but occaisionaly the clouds unleash a few minutes of fury just to let you know what they are capable of. The mercury has struggled to go beyond 20'C , outside it's very cold, wind chill plays a part.

The mountains in the distance are nearly always covered in mist, from those mountains the the Great Western probably looks the same.

The folklore says it always rains for Wesak, and this year it sure did, a friend from Colombo who called tells me that it's pouring bucketsl. Good, colombo needs it after a spell of hot weather that almost resulted in the first water cuts.

Today sadly it will be time to head back to colombo, since it takes around 4 hours to travel the 145 kilometers from my sister's bungalow up here in the hills, we probably will not be coming back for another couple of months at least.
