The road to Batticaloa will be closed during the night from now on. This action has been taken by the party that promised to "stop the UNP from deviding the country" came to power. The roads to batticaloa and Jaffna were closed for many, many years. They were opened up just after the peace process began around two years ago.

Many people who voted for the UPFA for the monks believing in the "the UNP is deviding the country" slogan had never travelled to the east coast or the jaffna pennisula before the peace process. If that slogan is true, it looks like some of these people may never go to the east coast again. That's because the UPFA is about to resume the same peace process that the UNP started.

The norwagians were the favourite whipping boys of the UPFA (then working separately PA and JVP) as well as the monks. They crime was to try to help establish peace in the country. Now the same Norway has been asked to resume their role as the intermediary.

The questions begs to be asked, If the UPFA is doing the same things that the UNP did why did we ever have an unscheduled election?
