May Day or mayday?

May 2, 2004

While socialism is nearly extinct in other countries of the world it thrives in Sri Lanka, yet the hundreds of thousands who take part with gusto in varius mayday rallies in Sri Lanka are totally unaware that the May Day originated in the US.

'yankee' bashing is quite common at these rallies in Sri Lankan which looks, smells and sounds like a bunch of socialist wierdos getting together. It's more of a political event than a day set aside to recognize the people who really work hard for a liviing.

Interestingly, most people at this rallies are employed at government offices 95% of them cannot honestly say they have done a days hard work in their lives.

Curiously it seems that the may day is not a holiday in the US probably as a reaction to the event being hijacked by the lefties.
