The Temple
April 25, 2004
During the past three weeks parliamentarians have spent a lot of time at the buddhist temples (accompanied by camera crews of course). If you add up the number of hours they spent this way, you will find that it far exceeds the total for all the past ten years put together. Some of them aren't even buddhists!
All that in an effort to woo the buddhist monks to support them in the parliament. Unfortunately for the government the monks didn't vote with them at the first session, held a couple of days ago. And the same MPs who were worshiping the monks at their feet a few days ago have started to abuse them in filth, some of this with in the parliament itself.
People do get the government they deserve.
