People think longer is better but it's not always so.

Shorter is definitely better for speeches, monologues, paragraphs especially if they are long drawn and do not contain a lot of punctuation marks like the latter half of this sentences.

Sentences are definitely better when they are shorter. If you are in doubt ask someone who has been to jail. Everyone whould agree that the long arm of the law is better when it's not long enough to encroach on civil liberties.

On the other hand longer is defintely better for holidays as long as the lines of traffic heading towards the resort aren't very long. Still shorter is definitely better when it's a long way down and you have just lost your footng on a cliff on your vacation.

Shorter is definitely better when you only have to run a short distance for cover, but short fuses are no good, the same can be said about the short end of the stick.

Terms of office for people who create long lines at job bank should certainly be made shorter.
