End of the road for small business?

June 18, 2004

During the ten years or so when the UPFA which was then the PA governed the country the economic growth was minimal. Finally it went into recession during 2000. Many of the businesses that were worst effected were the smaller ones. It looks like the same old story is about to happen again.

Big business in this country can always get by with lucrative goverment contracts (regardless of which party is in power). The small business on the other hand has to fight for every cent they earn and also have to give large percentage of that money to the government as taxes, which will then go waste.

In reality there isn't a big difference between the old PA's economic policies or the UNF's the difference however is the when the UNF is in power business confidence is always much much higher. That may mean the difference between whether your loan is approved or not., which in turn can mean the difference between a company staying afloat or shutting down.
