Sri Lanka It's Happening

That's an ancient chinese curse. In Sri Lanka we certainly are living in interesting times. We have had three general elections in four years. As this entry is being typed the results from the latest effort to waste public funds are being announced.

It looks like the UPFA will emerge the winner. It's still remains to be seen if they can gather enough seats in the parliament to form a government of their own. They may need the support of the Monks, the pro LTTE TNA or the muslim congress to form their government or perhaps all three.

Before the elections the retoric was that the monks will not join the government if the TNA is a part of it and vice verce. The next three weeks will be very interesting indeed.
