A shocking number of Sri Lankan seem to believe that the corruption that plagued the last UNF government is a worse than having a civil war on our hands. (many of them don't have friends or relatives in the army, if they have it's usually someone too senior to be at the battle front.).

What's even more shocking is that these same people believe that electing the extreme leftists to parliament will solve all the problems. They believe without corruption the army is capable of defeating the LTTE militarily. They seem to be blissfully unaware that the military option was tried for 20 long years with no sucess at all.
